Dev notes:
01/04/2023: We started this game 4 days ago on a whim and are surprised at how much we got done before the deadline. Unfortunately we couldn’t get facial expressions done in time for the end of the game jam, but we’ll be releasing them later on in a patch!
7/04/2023: Expressions have been added, alongside other quality of life features!
10/04/2023: Re uploaded files, there was a small bug with jellyfish & boots expressions which caused the game to break and become unplayable.

This game was a delight to play!
I loved the diverse, beautifully designed cast of fish-turned-humans, and the many ways you could know more about them. I also loved the six diverse endings of each fish, and how happy the epilogues are for each of them! The fishing takes a bit to get used to, but it's definitely a learning curve. My favorite was definitely octopus - so smart, yet so outgoing! There's even lore as to how the salmon might be our wife...? I also enjoy how you can see which options are favorable and which options aren't after you choose them, so that's an added bonus,
Such a wholesome game, I would most certainly recommend this to anyone wanting to give his a spin!
TL;DR - A fantastic, flawless game with quirky characters and a fun twist on the Visual Novel trope.

for people who are stuck on orca and boot, the last option on the orca is the self worth not the one with the heart and for boot , for the first panel that opens click the -- instead of the heart and continue with heart for the last 2 panels to get boot ending

i couldn't get all endings for some reason even though I chose all the hearts I am struggling to get the boot and orca endings.
You get boot and orca on your second time playing after octopus, just make sure to throw the blobfish back into the lake!

finished the game, and i love it! All of the endings were special for each character and it was fun to talk to each fish and see their characteristics, which is what makes this game different from all of the others.
it also looks like the heart symbol and "--" symbol is switched for the third and last option for orca. In order to get her ending you gotta select the self worth option.

love the game!! only issue is that i'm struggling to get the orca and boot endings- i've tried a bunch of combinations (including all heart answers) and none seem to work-
Just finished playing this game, and I absolutely adore the characters (especially my fictional wife and children). Also, I got all of the endings; each one was really heartwarming and unique! First of all, I just want to say, I really appreciate the fact this game isn't a dating sim, like thank god, we have a MC who is just loyal to their one goal in life (apparently, feeding their family, understandable). Second, we have loveable characters with actual (unique) personalities. They're not just some cute pixels on the screen, y'know. Third, I like to think that our MC received all of the secret endings, and in the end, all of the girls came to throw a secret party at their house along with the family. (How did the girls meet each other, you ask? I absolutely have no idea.) Now, I'm somewhat inspired to write a cute fanfiction for this cute little game! Thank you so much.
Edit: Everyone in this comment section was like, "Boot is best girl!" But I respectfully disagree, our Salmon Wife is clearly the best girl here. Canon lore, and our dedication for our wife, are just (chef's kiss) exquisite. True love trumps all.

Edit: For some reason I couldn't get Orca's ending. I don't know why, as I had all the heart options selected.

This was very cute, I really liked octopus' ending and also the fact it wasn't just a dating sim. I mean, I would have liked it anyways but this was more cool hehe
If you press A to fish multiple times the music restarts and one time I finished the normal ending of the game and the lovey-dovey heart background was still there when I loaded my earlier orca file, no idea why.

VERY CUTE GAME!! I love all the designs and the writing was great! The twist at the end was so funny HAHA.
Just real quick, I noticed there was a bug with Boot Girl's dialogue where the game stops progressing dialogue/doesn't let you save after the selection of "Make small talk about the nuclear properties of this lake." and the last line it let me go to was "I'm not a fan of it, since it's probably really bad for the lake."
Otherwise everything went without a hitch for the most part! :D THANK YOU AGAIN, VERY CUTE GAME!!

This is such an adorable game! All the characters are so cute.

P.S. Not sure if it's a bug, but Anglerfish, Octopus and Jellyfish have unique music themes, while Orca, Boot, Blobfish and Salmon share the same music.
Also, in the first choice menu for Boot and in the third choice menu for Orca the "-" and "♡" icons seem to be switched.

As for the music themes, I didn't have time in the game jam to give everyone a custom theme TT, so those ones got double ups. Once I release the game on steam I hope they can all have a unique song!!

Aw I really wanna play this game but the Jellyfish conversation isn't working for me. When the protagonist says "Not some jellyfish." it won't let me click forward and continue the dialogue.

There's a downloadable copy of the game, and a browser version. The downloadable copy shouldn't lose data between updates!

after playing: (i got all endings) but
the first ending gave me a big shock it took me a minute to understand what just happen and it was funny

I'm confused, should something happen after a pink screen? I get text that I assume is the end of a storyline, and some arrows that I click on, but nothing happens after that. I have to restart to do anything.
There's supposed to be a button that says "Title" at the bottom of the screen to press to go back to the main menu.
Could you take a screenshot if possible so I can see which screen you get stuck on? I'm planning an update by the end of the week so it would be really useful if I need to fix anything up ^-^)/

This game is excellent. Its a perfect example of the type of visual novel with a peculiar premise and a lot of heart. Each of the fish(/footwear) are so endearing. The fishing game is nice, just the right level of challenge for a minigame in a VN. Overall, a great game.
